It's been bao crazzzyy!!

Finally I tried out Maangchi's recipe of steamed pork buns. XD Was very very excited to start making them since after I have not been touching dough for like ages.. My mum and I used to make bao before when I was young.. I really enjoyed the soft warm texture of the dough, but I must say, I'm kind of sick with the smell of the yeast.. it smells really sour and bit like alcohol? lolx.. So yea here's my experience of making my own first bao from scratch XD

Happily went to get all the ingredients needed to make the bao and even the steamer metal stand.. had to use my rice cooker to steam instead, coz I don't happen to have the big steamer for bao... and so I got ready all the ingredients and started to measure them and putting them unto a big glass bowl.. I portioned Maangchi's recipe into 2, and so am expecting to make 8 bao altogether, as her's makes 16 =D. Then I knead the dough and let it rest for almost an hr.. am really happy to see the dough has risen and doubled in size.. however the smell of the yeast started to get my attention.. hmmm.. smells really strong.. lolx.. then was bit worried, didn't know what to do, and so I just continued the process of kneading it and letting it rest again..

Saute all my vegetables and pork and was ready to form my bao.. the dough was not as soft as I thought it would be.. >< but I still continue making them .. GOSH! It's not as easy as I thought it would be! It's difficult to make the pretty folding, just like how the mama in "Cookingwithdog" made it.. probably it was coz of my dough which wasn't soft and therefore difficult to make the bao shape.. then after forming them into the "almost looks like bao" shape ><!, then i steam them.. 

=X what a pity it was, the bao looks ok after steaming it, but the yeast just tasted too strong and was almost inedible.. T.T oh well that goes for my 1st attempt.. So I called my mummy and asked her what was wrong with my bao .. sobs.. she laughed at me >=(, she said " I told you so!" she told me to follow her recipe and that should be enough to come up with a tasty looking bao..  I know Mum's recipe is always the best!! XD haha and yea I tried her recipe today, ingredients was almost the same except with the amount of yeast and flour used. Am not quite satisfied with it as the filling was not tasty.. but as they say, practice makes perfect!  I must say I'm sick with eating bao already XD ! Gonna just have homemade siew mai for dinner tonight =D!

 tada! and so the outcome was this! hard boiled egg just makes the bao even yummier! hehe

with the remaining dough, I tried making one Hoddeok ( Korea sweet pancake), which is one of Korea's most popular street food.. The original filling is cinnamon and brown sugar.. ran out of cinnamon so I use mozzarella cheese instead  ^^ Is indeed yummy but can't eat a lot of it.. 

just had gyoza for breakfast.. after watching Cookingwithdog, I then know the proper way of cooking them ^^ 

 

finally! I make a beautiful tamagoyaki! XD its rolled omelette like the ones in the japanese restaurant..

I just wana go back home...

Have been pretty moody today.. am feeling all restless and my back is aching like hell.. my neck's aching like hell.. having a bad headache at the moment.. my smile seems heavy today..it felt like there's weight attached on both ends of my mouth.. probably have been staying at home growing mushrooms for too long.. have been studying for few hours today, finished a chapter of bank lending.. am really sick of studying.. just wished I had not taken this course.. wished I had just went on with what I really wanted to do..

I wish i can get to catch up with my old friends back.. I really miss all of them a lot.. my secondary school mates..i will never forget them.. hope their life and studies are doing good.. 

Home here have been too quiet lately, since after my housemate's parents gone back to KK.. I miss my home in Brunei.. I guess i wont even mind, hearing my Dad nagging at me all day.. wish to spend more time with my mum and my two sis.. i miss them a lot.. 

K mind have been empty lately..  my aim for now is to just finish what I've started, and to give in my best..

Anyeonghasaeyo!! 잘 먹겠습니다

잘 먹겠습니다~~jal meokkesseumnida * Lets eat!* Have been trying out some korean dishes which I've found on YouTube.. Check out Maangchi's YouTube video!! She's a very funny korean lady and she speaks english too coz she've been staying in Canada for quite a long time le.. I've watched almost all her video's and it's very GOOD! .. She also has a website www.Maangchi.com.. For those who wants to cook some korean dishes but just din know how to ,just have a look at her website and she will teach you all about it.. =D my favourite one i must say is her steamed pork bun and her bibimbap.. yummy!! Mostly the korean dishes used a lot of hot pepper paste so must drink plenty of water yea =D .. Can't wait to go back Brunei and cook them for my dear XD let his ka cheng hot hot hahaha!  

Dukbokki~ Korean rice cake.. One of Korea's famous street food..

 

Myulchi Bokkuem- Its dried anchovies/ikan bilis hehe.. this is a MUST try!! Its something like the dried anchovies you find in the chilli tapioca chips with peanuts. But this doesn't taste oily and its sweet + spicy + fragrant! ^^ It's a korean side dish and it can also be added to your Bibimbap.. yummy!

This is Bibimbap. Bibim means mix and bap means rice.. Therefore its Korean Mixed Rice.. As you can see, there are assorted veggies.. there's spinach,bean sprout,fresh slice cucumber, lightly stir fry carrots/can leave them uncook,zucchini,shitake mushroom,kimchi,mince beef and lastly the bullseye egg. Nice? ><! 

 Tadaa!! After mixing it with hot pepper paste, it shall look like this! LOL You may see that it seems bit gross or like in Full House, Rain says it looks like dog food... But it really is yummy.. Looks can be deceiving, but once u try them, you will find its actually very tasty.. This is my first time making it, and I kinda got headache after eating them, probably of the heat and the hot weather XD but try them its yummy!

 

 Sushi / Kimbap in korean.. This time I din add so much rice le.. If you had seen my old pics of my sushi, you can see I kinda put too much rice.. Now the filling is more than the rice! XD Enjoyed making sushi.. CookingwithDog says : Let's master the art of rolling sushi! 

Cookingwithdog is also famous on YouTube.. the mama in that video teaches how to cook Japanese dishes.. Also one of my favourite Youtube channel! 

 Just one of my diet food ><! just simply cut chinese cabbage, carrots, onions,chicken breast, tomato and fish cake.. but its also tasty! hehe

 Mango Mousse mochi dessert from Utopia.. I shall be making this next time!! the filling inside is just layers of mango mousse and choco sponge cake.. I prefer the green tea one better.. 

 Some rendang I cooked long time ago.. hehe dear I can cook it as good as yours too! =p 

 Porterhouse steak if Im not mistaken.. Cooked for my housemate to try it and she love it! hehe

Time to really catch up and study for my two upcoming midterm exam!! JY!!   Delicia's parents will be going back to KK today.. Will miss them coz they're so funny and friendly.. Happy mooncake festival ! =D

It's mooncake festival today! Got your mooncakes and lanterns ready?=D wish I am back in Brunei to celebrate this event with my family.. =( Mum would usually cook a lot of ho liaw dishes then my aunt would bring us to the temple to have a look at all the handmade lanterns.. Its really beautiful.. ^^When we were young, we would always sit outside the balcony with mum and sis, and have some tea with some mooncakes, and just gaze at the moon.. really miss those times.. can't wait to be back again..

 Bz bz period for me, every week there'll be just exams or test.. will be having another quiz tmr.. boo hoo.. Next week will be my 2nd week break again.. not the time for me to slack .. need to really catch up on my studies and after that.. exam again.. ._. Well have been going good lately, just tired of studying!.. 

Went to Araluen  Botanic Park last 2 days ago with my housemate and her parents.. Had a lot a lot of fun and laugh while on this trip with them.. It's spring now so time for the flowers to blossom.. Sad to say, there were only mostly tulips, but still very beautiful btw, and very less of the roses.. they seem to be all dead.. ><  beautiful park for some picnic with friends and family.. Shall bring my family there on the nxt trip , although its a very long drive to get there XD..

BTW!! Congratx to all the Curtin Master graduates including my housemate!! She'll be having her graduation tmr nite.. hehe have prepared a surprise gift for her from me and my other fren.. hope she'll likes it.. Can't wait till its my turn to wear the graduation gown and the mortarboard..!! XD 

Happy to be chatting with my old maple friend ( xlaOcav3n) haha   and my very very long time ago de tuition mate again .. =D Its nice to sometimes just have a chat with them and to know how they're doing.. When i get back, really got a lot a lot of catching up to do.. My friend have been asking me to go SG during this dec holiday.. ahhh am scared to ask my Dad now , he would probably say study first or something.. Well I'll be asking him about it very soon.. hope I'll be able to go with my friends and my beloved Dear heheh...

Out of no where, a star was born.. =D Recently there have been a lot of mentioning about Jason Chen.. I din bothered at all about who this guy was.. then as I was looking through Facebook, I saw Bubz posting up a YouTube video about him singing- it was just a dream I think.. It's weird I also just found out that he have been already posting up videos of his singing since like 2008.. and only now we've heard of him..Anyways he sing really well.. he should join the X factor or something.. Along with his group of friends whom he have also sang with on YouTube, they're awesome as well =D

K am bored now, 3rd post for the day XD! Watching Full house again.. I know its really an old drama.. Running out of dramas to watch le!! I want to go to Etude House in Brunei!! Wish they would open one here!

Baby, Happy 9th Month Anniversary! Sorry didn't sms you at 12am on our anniversary as usual.. you know me de lor, hehe very very bz this week.. All in my mind was just study.. study.. STUDY!!.. But I still got think of you and miss you de hor! ♥ Though it has just been 9mnths, felt that our relationship had begun a long long time ago.. ehehe love you love you love you! Am glad that I've met you.. it seemed difficult to find someone who shares the same interest as I do.. probably that's why our relationship wasn't feeling that dull and our perseverance had let us learn to understand more about one another and is able to cont on this relationship, despite the long distance ... May we cherish each other for the many future years to come..♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!!

Cherish your love ones before its too late.. anyone's life can just end at anytime.. it's really unpredictable of what would happen in the future.. live life to the fullest and enjoy every moment of it.. 

Just got the news that the guy whom i met 2-3 years ago at  a christian camp, just passed away.. he has always been funny, active and a person full of energy.. he was my group leader at that time.. Its really sad to see him go so early at this age.. maybe God really loves him and wants him to reached to God.... a person's end of date life has already been marked in heaven, my sis said.. what his love ones can do is to just pray for him in heaven.. 

Sat for my Accounting system paper today.. 1week plus of preparation had finally paid off.. the questions were almost similar to the questions I've attempted... really am happy and relieved that its over.. was so happy that I've decided to went shopping, even though was really tired and only slept for 3hrs today... bought many clothing and spent almost $150 ><! really is a sweet ending for the day after a BZ week that I've gone through.. BUT!!.. its not over yet.. I've got another paper next Thursday and gotta study them tonight.. and the following weeks, are continuous exams and assignments that are bound to be due.. so far doing well for the quizzes and the lab test.. JYJYJY!! must cont to do my best and give in my all.. 

My facial cleanser that has been posted from KK to Perth hasn't arrived yet!!! Have been checking the mailbox every single day.. hope it arrived soon coz really can't wait to use them... Alright its time to study again.. Can't afford to waste the time anymore, the pressure is just starting to heat up ! x.x !!

R.I.P my heater~

My heater just died today.. T.T think it was coz I accidentally knock it down ytd when I vaccuum the carpet...then today tried to on it, but there wasn't any heat at all.. then I bang it down again, and then i know its officially dead!! Time to get a new one anyways coz its kinda old le.. >< Verrryyy cold these few nights.. its already Spring and it still feels like Winter.. Very bz these few days studying for my mid term exam this friday.. so scared arh!! many to study!! Although its just one unit TT..

Time to be a nerd again, will be going to the library to study tmr^^ Have been guai today, woke up at 9 then went uni to study for few hrs.... hehehe forced myself to get up.. Will do the same for tmr again =D Baby must be so proud of me now..HAHHAAHA ! hope so.. hehe.. Catching up the lectures that I've missed through the online lecture.. Fell asleep after the first 10-15mins.. super boring!! my lecturer speaks so slowly, easily for me to fall asleep eh >< and so many times I had to keep rewinding back to the part where I missed.. lol.. Ok although Im verry tired, but I still gotta study for the exam, coz I've been a lazy girl not studying earlier from the start of the sem.. =(

Brrr.. its cold tonight..

Its a very very VERY cold night.. its 9°c now in Perth.. Preparing for my Acct system exam which will be on this week.. T.T at the same time gotta study for my next Acct 260 quiz again.. Die le.. die le..!! but I did study 2 chapt today, tmr another 2 chap den shall start memorizing them.. today just write the important notes down on papers.. highlighting them really makes the paper more interesting to read on.. lolx.. 

Din have the mood to go shopping these few weeks.. haix uni uni uni.. 3mnths left then I can go back le and relax.. time pass really fast when we're bz.. After I received a sms from my Dad, he wrote a couple of stuff and he said not not to forget my work commitment.. and then I thought.. Haix, I really gotta do my best.. 

Dear's been enjoying himself raya-ing at his friends place.. hehe happy for him coz he could eat the malay dishes and kuih.. =D these 2 days have been talking a lot with my housemate.. she has been introducing me this really good facial cleanser called Melilea.. I just found out they've got a branch in Brunei as well.. Just by seeing the fair complexion of hers, I'd already knew it was a very good product.. hehe I've ordered a set too and will be arriving nxt week.. can't wait to use them and am looking forward for the result a month later.. =D 

Just finished watching Princess Hours ytdy... After the 3rd time watching this drama, I still cried at the last 2 episodes.. lol.. really is a good a drama.. Watching My Lovely Sam Soon again for the 2nd time.. Well have watched both of them like 3-4 yrs back.. I know I'm weird, watching them all over again.. haha okie will end here and will post up some old pics of the stuff I made last year while in Perth.. =D

Happy Happy day~!

Wanted to blog yesterday but was very busy preparing for my lab and accounting test.. test was easy! =D i mean i really did concentrate when answering the questions.. ehehe must do well for my 2nd upcoming accounting quiz again !! XD gambateh!! Yesterday after accounting class at 7pm, went to coles to get some pork , then drop by at the korean store to buy some dukbokki, ramen and kimchi.. hehe was craving for korean food ! XD The handsome korean guy at the cashier said HELLO to me! lolx.. first time talk with a korean guy.. but he can speak english v well =D then he just teached me how to cook the dukbokki and what other ingredients i could add in to make it tastier.. hehe so i went home to try them out.. cooked kimchi soup, dukbokki and bulgogi.. =D 

I've also cooked sushi rice to go with the korean dish.!. hehe really is very OISHI!! kekex.. shared my korean dish with my housemate and she enjoyed it very much too ! ^^v Btw, SELAMAT HARI RAYA to all the Muslims =D! My neighbor happens to be a Malay and ytdy morning i could already hear them having their raya gathering with friends and lots of laughter.. 

Miss eatting all the malay kuehs when I was in Brunei.. my dad's friend would give him some layer cakes made by his wife.. i enjoy taking out every layer of the cake, piece by piece.. hehe.. K shall end this post with some pics..

hehe.. cooked for Dear spicy beef noodle! Put a lot a lot of liaw XD

this is erm i don't know what to call this.. lolx.. the taste is little bit sweet + salty, has star anise which gives out a beautiful aroma, n can see got pork and egg.. =D

homemade strawberry ice cream! but fail! coz wrongly added extra milk at the end TT .. its okie! practice makes perfect! =D 

my roti spinach! hehe inside have cheese and spinach.. learn how to make the murtabak from poh's kitchen XD but still nt as light and crispy compare to how the indians make ><

 my diet food >< below there's passionfruit and mango yoghurt, topped with some fresh fruits and there's wild berry weetbix as well.. yummy yummy..

 last but not least, my favourite red bean + barley tong shui .. woo hoo v nice!!

Will be sitting for my lab test and accounting quiz tmr.. I think I should be ready for it x.x  Hope I'll be able to finish the lab test on time, its only 40mins! and 40mins is not enough for me ! I've been practicing with the lab tutorial question over and over again.. It's not that hard, its just I feel that there's not enough time to fill in all the data .. oh well will see how i do tmr!  I must say I'm starting to like Bank Lending class.. It's maybe coz I prepared for the answer before class and he rarely ask me for the answer le.. well i preferred him not to either.. lolx..

 

Ytd after class came back to cook dinner before going off to uni to study in the night.. Cooked Bulgogi yesterday..hehe =D Then just wrapped it with lettuce.. Its yummy! XD After dinner at 7, then i went to  uni... Starting to get uncomfortable driving at night coz I feel that my night vision is getting bad.. Or probably their car lights is just too bright! and there isn't that much street light as well.. Came home with a red eye.. I think i just got the conjunctivitis x.x nvr happened to me before.. lol.. Dear said probably i was too tired.. Yea i seriously should get more sleep, as in sleep early and wake up early .. Wish he's here to wake me up in the morning again.. hehe 

K shall stop here.. its time to study again.. trying my best to study at least 6hrs a day.. is it too little?

Spring is here~!

It's spring season now in Perth, weather's still chilly but the sun's coming out more often now in the morning and noon.. =D flowers are also starting to bloom .. I should walk out to the garden behind my house more often now.. there's flowers which i called" SAKURA!" haha are just beautiful! but many bees!! 

ok maybe it looks bit botak still, but this was taken like 2-3 weeks ago lolx ..

I hope the scary tutor doesn't pick me for the answer.. >< its only an hr class, so hope time pass fast fast! hehe 

Dear's mood wasn't that good ytdy night.. probably something came up at work and that upsets his mood.. but we're ok again today.. ehehe gave him a call, and he sounded better than last nite.. =) hope his boss isn't giving him a hard time.. >=(!!!

Piranha!! >=(

Went to watch Piranha in 3D today with housemate and it was... just absolutely  DISGUSTING!!.. The hot babes and hunks are just like swimming in the lake of death!! The movie was OK quite intimidating, but its a little bit fake lolx.. OK won't go anymore further or else I'll just spoil the whole show for those who have not watched it yet =D But its not bad so you guys should watch it =D.. It's my first time watching a 3D movie at the cinema you know?>< it was ok but my housemate said the quality from the one in Perth wasn't as good.. But it was my first experience so i kinda enjoyed it hehe..

Dear HK neighbours, 

                          Can you stop banging the freaking DOOR!?! Every night I can just hear them banging the sliding door, room doors and many times I've heard them keeping on moving their furniture or something and dragging on the floor.. Alamak don't know why they keep doing that >< very noisy!!! ... Anyways I went to Uni today like i said i would =D Was kinda afraid that there won't be any table left for me to use , coz once i got to uni, saw a lot of cars, so i thought " oh well guess i gotta wait again ><" .. but how unexpected, the place wasn't full at all XD..probably most of them are at the library.. hehe

Spend 2 hours just doing my lab revision work in which will be sitting for the test next week!! it was OK just gotta speed it up coz we only got like 40mins to do it!! gosh!! Well i also have been Youtube-ing, so i guess that explains the 2hrs ei >< ... Watched about how Tyra Banks confronted the media about putting up fake pictures of her gaining 40pounds instead of just 10 pounds.. U ROCK TYRA! =D She's just so strong and supports women to just love themselves with their own bodies..  The funny part was at the end, she told to those who hated her and people who has bodies like her, to just KISS MY ASS! and she shed a few tears.. but it was brave for her to do that and  standing up for herself hehe =D

Anyways, got home feeling tired and just went straight to bed for a nap.. SORRY din hear your call baby >< dozing off like a pig again..Feels that my sleeping time is really screwed up.. When people's asleep, I'm awake and when people's awake, I'm asleep..hope to sleep earlier when uni reopens..  Baby's not feeling well today.. must be from the work and not getting enough sleep.. hope he feels better soon! So am i, feeling bit heaty and eyes feels hot hot as i close >< OK time to sleep again.. =D Nitex Nitex~~!

Productive day today~ hehehe or not hmm..

Studied today and feels that i could be studying MORE!! another chap of acct system for tonight again~=D Woke up late again today, and coz of the guilt of not waking up early to study, I studied right after the moment I got up from bed ><... 5 days left till uni reopens again.. Told my housemate to wake me up early tmr so that I could go to uni to study.. I think I can study better in uni!

Watched a couple of hilary duff's movie today... The Lizzie McGuire movie, her new show Beauty and the briefcase.. and now According to Greta.. I missed her old time shows "Lizzie Mcguire" on disney channel.. =D Used to  keep watching with my mei when we were young.. haha love it love it love it! Finally found a webbie called stagevu, that let's us stream full movies for free.. and especially doesn't requires that much clicking just to watch the videos!! But anyways, net is getting a little bit slower le.. T.T

Tummy wasn't feeling quite well today, kept gulu gulu and giving me weird feelings , like my mum always says her tummy feels like its going for WAR! lolx! I think I felt the same way too! ._.

Alrights time for studying again and then off to bed!! Miss dear a lot! Am happy how things are becoming a lot better now between us. As long as we persevere and keep working hard for this relationship, I know we can last long. I love you baby~<33 Muackx! KK nitex all~
